After all activities in the FWF PEEK project Jazz & the City: Identity of a Capital of Jazz, research on jazz and popular music in urban settings contrinues in a new research project funded by the City of Vienna. Artistic Research in Jazz and Popular Music: Eine künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Kartografie aktueller Musikpraktiken in Wien focuses on the further development of the young research discipline of Artistic Research, with a special focus on the diverse musical practices in jazz and popular music in the various urban spaces of the city of Vienna. The project will be conducted from 2024-2028 under the leadership of Dr. Michael Kahr at JAM MUSIC LAB Private University.
